Questions? contact@sherisesstudios.com
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how The Author Takeover Engine™ (the “Engine”), available at authortakeover.sherisesstudios.com, collects, uses, shares and protects personal information.
The Engine is operated by FENIX TV LLC, a California limited liability company (“FENIX TV”, “we”, “us”). FENIX TV is the business you contract with when you use the Engine. The Engine’s technology and intellectual property are owned by She Rises Studios LLC (“She Rises Studios”), which licenses the Engine to FENIX TV.
By using the Engine, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Engine.
2. Eligibility
The Engine is intended only for people who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
3. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: your name, email address, sign-in method (email and password, Google or Apple), and account settings.
- Author and book information: your bio, expertise, audiences, goals, brand voice, book titles, descriptions, ISBNs, links, release dates, offers, author facts you add or approve, and files you upload, such as manuscripts, media kits and images.
- Campaign and outreach information: campaigns, tasks, saved opportunities, pitch drafts, approvals, outreach history, opt-outs, and reply notes you record manually.
- Communications: messages you send us through our contact form, waitlist or email, beta feedback, and support conversations.
- Technical information: information needed to run and secure the service, such as sign-in session data, device and browser type, IP address, and logs of actions taken in your account.
- Billing information: paid subscriptions are not currently available. If they become available, payments will be handled by the checkout provider you choose (Stripe or PayPal). We expect to receive limited billing details such as plan, billing status and transaction records, not your full card number. FENIX TV LLC is expected to be the merchant of record for future subscriptions.
4. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- create and secure your account and keep you signed in;
- provide the Engine’s features, including campaign planning, opportunity research, drafting materials and outreach you approve;
- respond to inquiries and provide support;
- send service messages, such as sign-in, confirmation and password-reset emails;
- send marketing emails where you have given appropriate consent (see Marketing Communications);
- monitor usage limits, prevent abuse, and investigate security issues;
- understand and improve the Engine using aggregated or de-identified usage information; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
5. Ownership and Confidentiality
You own your books, manuscripts and the content you provide. She Rises Studios owns the Engine, its software and related intellectual property.
You may use materials the Engine generates for you, subject to the rights of others (for example, third-party names, trademarks or quoted material).
We treat your private content as confidential. FENIX TV and She Rises Studios staff may access private account content only when needed to provide support you request, to protect security, or to meet legal obligations.
Manuscripts are never made public. Promotional files are shared only when you approve sharing.
6. AI Processing
Some features use artificial intelligence (AI) to help draft materials such as pitches and summaries. To do this, relevant parts of your content may be sent to third-party AI model providers that process it on our behalf.
The Engine is designed to base claims about you on facts you have approved. AI output can still be inaccurate, and you should review all materials before using them. Nothing is sent to outside contacts without your approval.
We do not use your content to train AI models. Our AI providers’ own data-use and retention terms are still being reviewed, and we will not describe them as verified until that review is complete.
7. Research and Third-Party Information
The Engine helps you find media, podcast, speaking and partnership opportunities. Some of this information comes from public sources and third-party research providers.
Opportunity information may be incomplete, out of date or inaccurate. Please verify details before relying on them. We do not guarantee any media placement, booking, review, sale or other result.
8. Gmail and Connected Email Accounts
If you choose to connect a Gmail account during our pilot, the Engine requests only two permissions: your email address (userinfo.email), to identify the connected account, and permission to send email (gmail.send), to send messages you have reviewed and approved.
The Engine does not read, scan or download your inbox. Replies are recorded only when you choose to enter them manually.
You can disconnect your Gmail account at any time from your settings or your Google account.
The Engine’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
10. Marketing Communications
We send marketing emails, such as launch updates and founding-author offers, only where you have given appropriate consent, for example by checking the consent box on our waitlist. Every marketing email will include a way to unsubscribe, and you may also unsubscribe by contacting us. Service messages about your account may still be sent after you unsubscribe from marketing.
12. Data Security
We use administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect your information, including access controls that limit each account to its own data and private file storage with time-limited links. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us right away.
13. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Engine, then for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, such as resolving disputes, preventing abuse, and meeting legal, tax and accounting obligations.
14. Account Deletion and Data Requests
You may ask us to delete your account. When an account is deleted, we delete its account content and uploaded files, except information we are required by law to keep. You may also ask for a copy of your information or request a correction.
To make a request, email contact@sherisesstudios.com or, if you have an account, use the Privacy request form in your account Settings. We verify your identity before acting on requests to access, correct, export or delete information, and submitting a request does not by itself delete or release any data.
15. Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know what personal information we hold about you, to access or receive a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, to object to or limit certain uses, and to withdraw consent. California residents may have rights under California law, including the right to know and delete personal information and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information.
To exercise your rights, contact contact@sherisesstudios.com or use the Privacy request form in your account Settings. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows.
16. International Users
The Engine is operated from the United States. If you use it from another country, your information may be transferred to, stored and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your country.
17. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the “Last Updated” date. If we make material changes, we will provide notice, such as by email or a notice in the Engine.
